How to Join
Complete a Preliminary Lineage Check form starting with your Mayflower Passenger and ending with yourself.
Complete our Prospective Member Fact Sheet to give us your information for the process.
These can be emailed or mailed to the Minnesota Historian, and a preliminary search will be done in hopes of finding a previously approved application that follows your same ancestry.
Once this process is complete, the Minnesota Historian will provide you with further instructions.
Membership Transfers
Transfers to the Minnesota Society will start with your current state society:
Indicate your wish to transfer and they will contact the Minnesota Historian to indicate if you are in good standing.
The Minnesota Historian will issue a new state society number unless you remain a member in both states, in which case you would pay dues, if warranted in both states.
The process is the same if you want to transfer your Minnesota membership to another state, just in reverse.
Junior Membersip
An applicant under the age of 18 years may apply to become a Junior Member through sponsorship by a related member of the Minnesota Society or upon submission and approval of the necessary lineage papers proving his/her line.
The Junior Member category terminates on the individual’s 18th birthday.
A junior Member applicant must be related to his/her sponsor in the Minnesota Society by blood through the line through which such a member was approved by the General Society of Mayflower Descendants.
The term “by blood,” in addition to parents and grandparents, shall be interpreted to include uncles or aunts in the same line.
Begin by completing the Junior Application below:
